2.0 diesel (I4)
204DTD, 204DTA, 204DTH, 204DTF, 204DTY
1,999 cc (later MHEV often 1,997 cc) common-rail diesel. Single-turbo 150–180 hp or twin-turbo ~240 hp. Timing chain at the rear. The volume used-engine market in the UK.
JLR’s in-house modular engines from 2015. Diesel fours, petrol fours and later straight-sixes share a name. They do not share a bay.
Ingenium engines are designed and built by Jaguar Land Rover, with four-cylinder production centred on the Wolverhampton plant from 2015. The point of the architecture was a shared design language across Land Rover and Jaguar — aluminium blocks, chain-driven cams on the fours, turbocharging, Euro 6.
Breakers still title everything “Ingenium 2.0”. That is not enough to buy. You need the stamped code, the unique engine number, fuel, output, and whether the donor sat the engine across the car or in line with it.

PT204 and related 2.0 petrol stamps
Turbo petrol four, sold as Si4 and later P200 / P250 / P300. Same modular family, different fuel system. Do not mix a petrol long-block into a diesel bay, or the reverse.
Ingenium straight-six diesel and petrol
Used in Defender, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and later Discovery. Physically and electrically a different job from any 2.0 four. Higher used and recon money.
The volume used-engine trade is still the four-cylinder diesel. 204DTD is the common 150–180 hp single-turbo stamp. 204DTA is the twin-turbo ~240 hp. 204DTH and 204DTF are related suffixes. 204DTY is often a later mild-hybrid diesel. Full table: 2.0 diesel code explainer.
Si4 and P200/P250/P300 are 2.0 petrol Ingenium (PT204 and related stamps). They will not run in a diesel car. The 3.0 straight-six (diesel and petrol) is physically larger and belongs in Defender, Range Rover and related platforms — not in a transverse compact SUV.

Kits we would actually order for a 2.0 diesel: Schaeffler INA 559 1793 20 or Febi 194091 for the chain, and LR140581 for a single turbo. Confirm the box against your engine number. Affiliate disclosure — tracking IDs are still placeholders.
