Jaguar XF and XE Ingenium engines sit north–south
Why a Jaguar XF or XE 2.0 diesel or petrol is longitudinal hardware and should not be sold as a transverse compact-SUV drop-in.
Jaguar XF (X260) and XE (X760) 2.0 diesels are often stamped 204DTD or 204DTH. Capacity and power can look identical to a transverse compact-SUV 180 hp diesel on paper. The engine sits longitudinal for rear-wheel drive (AWD versions still sit north–south).
Sump, turbo orientation, mounts and the gearbox face follow that layout. Sellers who list “fits Discovery Sport, Evoque, XF, XE” are listing a family, not a bolt-in. Match transverse to transverse and longitudinal to longitudinal.
Keep XF/XE engines for those cars, or similar north–south applications such as F-Pace and Velar. Fits which cars.
Kits we would actually order for a 2.0 diesel: Schaeffler INA 559 1793 20 or Febi 194091 for the chain, and LR140581 for a single turbo. Confirm the box against your engine number. Affiliate disclosure — tracking IDs are still placeholders.
